Persistance and not having a 'life plan' are good points I think, but in some ways they emanate from passion in the sense that it helps if you are pursuing what you want to do. The desire to achieve and carry on doing what you want to do often drives the other things. I can confess that I have always been hopeless at learning a foreign language but my desire to be able to speak French or Spanish trumps my natural inclination to give up and eventually I am developing a modicum of competence.

Also I think there's a bit more to what Ken Robinson is saying in The Element which is about discovering your talent - or what you might be good at - often despite the opinions of others or what you think you can achieve yourself.

No. For me Follow your Passion is indeed a good advice for your career. This is what Disc personality testing is all about. To know your passion is to know what you like doing most and what you are good at and developing these skills to achieve career development.

There is no plan!
Funny that with your recent piece on planners.
With structured marketing plans seeking to achieve given results you wonder how much serendipity is allowed and whether managers and the C suite can cope with radical changes in the marketplace.

Should the personal arena be any different from the business arena? Especially in the environment Brian Solis identifies as Brands becoming people and people becoming brands.

All of his six points are really inspiring. They give you a lot to think about. I totally agree to them. Thanks for sharing this.
