Sourced from images collected by NASA's STEREO (Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory) mission.Two nearly identical space-based observatories - one ahead of Earth in its orbit, the other trailing behind. Composed from raw satellite data, which has not been cleaned and processed for public consumption.

Its quite bizarre that the distorted sound artefacts from the data stream sound just like you'd expect of a creepy space based Sci Fi movie (think Sunshine).

Or more logically, people who wrote those early space based sci fi flicks had used sources like this for inspiration and replicated it.
