I think this is a major opportunity. I kinda like the cutting back and the stripping away. I kinda like the 'lets just stick to the status quo' approaches because THIS, NOW is when the lightning strikes.

I predict that over the next 12 - 18 months you will see monumental game changes that simply would not have been able to thrive if it weren't for the obscene levels of panic and fear that ripple through the old boys networks.

The huddling, the insular conversations, the committees of violent agreement just propel the spawn of disruption.

Such disruption that quietly grows amid the dustclouds of speculative and cynical minds.

'We will weather the storm' they say.

I say 'You are on the wrong friggin' ocean, weather what ya like...'

Let's see.

Ha ha ha ha.

I have started talking about The Cockroach Economy which doesn't sound very nice but in fact takes a very positive lead from Paul Graham's essay : http://tinyurl.com/4zo44v.

The basic idea is that cockroaches are hard to kill because they need so little to keep going. And while the world burns they just keep on going!

Here's a little example of a cockroach project I found : http://preview.tinyurl.com/5e2p58.

Roach Rules for the forseeable future! ;-)

Thanks for the comment and for blogging about it Jonathan.

James - like it. I'd read (but forgotten about) that Paul Graham piece so I'm going to re-read it. I think the concept is very apt. Thanks for the comment.
